SIGN NOW: STOP TRUMP’S SOCIAL SECURITY COMMISSIONER NOMINEE

The Senate Finance Committee

Donald Trump has nominated a new Commissioner of Social Security whose only qualification is his hostility toward Social Security.

Andrew Saul has served on the board of the right-wing Manhattan Institute which publishes articles advocating for drastic cuts to our earned benefits. As Commissioner, he would be responsible for administering Social Security benefits fairly--and like many Trump nominees, there are signs that he believes that his wealth and privilege should make him above the law.

In 2007, Saul was forced to drop out of a New York Congressional race due to unethical campaign contributions. And in 2012, Saul tried to lie “his way out of a trespassing rap by falsely identifying himself as a police commissioner.”

The new commissioner would have a 6-year term, so will potentially remain in this position even after Trump leaves office. It is critical that we stop a political appointment that could damage Social Security for generations to come.

Sign the petition to tell the Senate that a vote for Andrew Saul is a vote against Social Security.

Andrew Saul is completely unqualified to serve as Commissioner of Social Security. He has no background in Social Security whatsoever. In fact, his only qualification appears to be that he was a classmate of Donald Trump’s at The Wharton School. We call on the U.S. Senate to reject Andrew Saul’s 6-year appointment as Commissioner of Social Security. A vote for Andrew Saul is a vote against Social Security.
