Trumpcare’s $880 billion cut to Medicaid is much more than an attack on the poor, working families, children, seniors and people with disabilities. It is an attack on the American people. It is an attack on families, and our shared belief that we have a duty to care for one another.
Medicaid provides vital health insurance protections to seniors in nursing homes and low-income Americans of all ages. Although the majority of Medicaid beneficiaries are children and working-age adults, Medicaid spends more money on long term care for seniors and people with disabilities than anything else.
This Thursday, on the anniversary of President Obama’s Affordable Care Act, the Republican led House of Representatives will vote to replace the ACA with Trumpcare―an $880 billion cut to Medicaid.
