Un-Rig Our Elections and Open Polling to All Candidates
Public Policy Institute of California

Two polls conducted so far by the Public Policy Institute of California on the U.S. Senate Democratic Primary race have only listed two of the over 20 candidates vying for the seat.
Each poll costs about $40,000. This is yet another way for private industry to have undue influence via their donations, especially if the poll strategically excludes candidates.
The corporate media then plays its complicit part by reporting the poll as unbiased and representative of your choices.
This tactical maneuver undermines candidates running against the status quo so that voters never get the chance to learn about them, which all but guarantees their loss.
Not this time.
Let the establishment know that we will not be silenced. Add your name to this petition (see petition language in box below) and tell the Public Policy Institute of California (@PPICnotes) to un-rig the primary and open polling to all candidates, and for the media to do its job and report the facts.

Your polls of the U.S. Senate race in California are incomplete. There are over twenty candidates running in this race, yet you only polled for two. This tactic is clearly used as a strategic measure to influence elections. Yet, your website states that you are "dedicated to informing and improving public policy in California through independent, objective, nonpartisan research."
It also states that you are a public charity and that you do "not take or support positions on any ballot support, or oppose any political parties or candidates for public office."
Excluding even one candidate from a poll is the opposite of objectivity. This is unacceptable, manipulative, and deceptive. You have excluded more candidates than you've included in both of your polls.
How am I as a public citizen supposed to trust any research or poll that you produce when this is your standard practice?
I ask that in the name of public charities and polling integrity, you produce a public apology and truly unbiased polls.
Please stop rigging our elections.
Thank you.
