UNIFIED DEMAND CRITICAL PAY FOR ALL NURSES, ALL UNITS, ALL SHIFTS!!!

We, the undersigned nurses of Ascension Rochester stand united in our commitment to provide exceptional care to our patients and in our demand for critical pay for all shifts. It is essential that our administration acknowledges the reality we face daily — critical staffing shortages are occurring around the clock, and the safety and well-being of our patients depend on our ability to work in a supportive environment that fairly compensates our efforts.

Despite clear evidence of staffing shortages at all times of the day, management continues to withhold critical pay for these shifts. We want to make it unequivocally clear that critical staffing occurs not only during the evenings and on weekends, but in the peak hours of the weekday as well. This ongoing issue affects every one of us, and it is time for decisive action.

**Our Concerns Are as Follows:**  

1. Perpetual Staffing Shortages: There are consistently open shifts across all departments, showing a clear need for intervention to ensure safe nurse-to-patient ratios throughout all hours.

2. Increased Workloads: Nurses are experiencing heightened levels of stress and burnout due to being constantly pulled to cover additional shifts and unanticipated call-outs. This is unsustainable and detrimental to both staff and patient care.

3. Patient Care Risks: The current lack of adequate staffing threatens our ability to provide the high-quality care our patients deserve. We cannot, in good conscience, allow our commitment to patient safety to be compromised any longer.
