Veterans Say Stop Arming Israel: Arms Embargo Now
Congress
As Veterans, family members and supporters, we are clear that Israel's devastating attacks on Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and Iran are grossly beyond what any reasonable person could possibly construe as self-defense and in many cases constitute outright crimes against humanity.
In the past year alone, the Israeli government has carried out more than 17,000 attacks throughout the region and unleashed unspeakable violence against Palestinians with no end in sight.
Veterans play a powerful role in this fight and have a duty to oppose our government’s continued supplying of Israel’s genocide. The U.S. must stop arming Israel NOW. Veterans stand with the overwhelming majority of Americans who want to stop sending weapons to Israel. It is clear that Israel’s live-streamed genocide of Palestinians has been carried out in no small part due to the help of U.S. manufactured weapons and military aid.

We, the undersigned U.S. military Veterans, family members and supporters, call on Members of Congress to take aggressive action to stop the flow of U.S. weapons and tax dollars to Israel.
For over a year, Israel has waged a devastating military campaign against Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and Iran, going grossly beyond what any reasonable person could possibly construe as self-defense. Israel’s actions have constituted outright crimes against humanity, including countless massacres, forced displacement, field executions, torture camps, total infrastructure destruction, forced starvation, and burning alive Palestinians like 19-year-old Sha'ban al-Dalou. Total casualties are in the hundreds of thousands if we take into account those who died from malnutrition and lack of medical care—and millions displaced.
As people who have served and sacrificed for this country, we are disgusted that our elected officials have failed to meaningfully intervene, and we are outraged that many have, in fact, directly profited from these horrors. To us, these actions can only be characterized as betrayal, cowardice, and abdication of duty.
Just as U.S.-made weapons decimated the peoples of Iraq, Afghanistan, and other victims of the so-called Global War on Terror, they are now being used to decimate communities in Palestine and Lebanon. How many more times do we have to learn that this kind of brute violence can never lead to stability, peace, or progress?
We see that this genocide has only been made possible by the record-breaking military aid packages that the U.S. is providing to Israel. Israel’s repeated gross violations using U.S. weapons have been vastly documented and cited as acts of genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes—like 120 millimeter tank rounds used in the killing of 6-year-old Hind Rajab, her family, and paramedics on January 29, 2024, GBU-39 Boeing bombs used in the Rafah tent massacre on May 26, 2024, and JDAMs to bomb a mosque and school in central Gaza on October 5, 2024. Beyond constituting a moral failure, the U.S. is in violation of both U.S. and international law, including the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 and the Arms Export Control Act.
It is clear that the only way to stop the killing, from Palestine to Lebanon and beyond, is to cut off the endless and unconditional supply of U.S. weapons and military funding fueling Israel’s atrocities. Veterans stand with the majority of Americans who want the withdrawal of military funding to Israel and who recognize that urgent action is needed to protect Palestinian, Lebanese, and other communities in the region, including U.S. citizens, whose lives are at stake.
We urge our elected officials to support the halting of all weapons and military funding to Israel now through pushing for an immediate arms embargo on Israel and the immediate withdrawal of all U.S. military personnel and resources from Israel, like the U.S. War Reserve Stockpile.
