Tell the California Senate to protect communities and vote YES on AB 345
State Senators Bob Hertzberg, Ben Hueso, and Anna Caballero
It’s time for California to stop drilling for fossil fuels at the expense of public health.
Right now, there’s a bill that just passed the State Assembly and is under consideration in the Senate that would protect Californians from the hazards of oil and gas drilling.
The bill was heard in the Natural Resources and Water Committee this week but it failed by ONE VOTE. The good news is that AB 345 will be reconsidered at a hearing on August 12. That’s why we need to get as many signatures and comments to these three Senators demanding they change their vote from no to YES.
Sign our petition to Bob Hertzberg, Ben Hueso, and Anna Caballero right now urging them to vote YES on AB 345 so it can be voted on by the full Senate.

I urge you to support AB 345, Assembly member Al Muratsuchi's essential bill that will require the state to protect public health, and especially children, from the hazards associated with oil and gas operations.
Constituents across California support a 2500-ft. buffer zone between oil and gas operations and sensitive sites, especially places where children live, learn, or play.
More than 5 million Californians live near oil and gas drilling sites where toxic, health-threatening air pollutants are emitted. We know that proximity to oil and gas wells cause a host of health impacts including asthma and other respiratory ailments. Now, new research shows that those who live in heavily polluted areas have a higher risk of severe complications from COVID-19.
Everyone in our state has a right to clean air and water and a safe climate.
