WE DEMAND MEDICARE FOR ALL NOW

Members of Congress

No matter who you are, or where you live – New York City, on a farm in Iowa, as a senior in Chicago or an immigrant in Arizona – health care is something everyone needs, but not everyone has.

My name is Darnell Stallworth, and I am one of those people. I am now paralyzed on the left side of my body because I didn’t have access to health care when I needed it most.

With health care, a doctor could have treated my high blood pressure, and I might have been able to avoid the nine brain surgeries I’ve undergone!

Because I’m paralyzed, I now have access to Medicaid, and access to quality health care regardless of which job I hold. But things shouldn’t be this way: A person shouldn’t have to become paralyzed to get health coverage. Everyone deserves quality care.

Now I’m fighting to ensure my kids have access to health care, regardless of what happens to me. That’s why I’ve joined People’s Action to support the Medicare for All Act of 2019, introduced by Rep. Pramila Jayapal (WA) and Senator Bernie Sanders (VT).

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (KY) refuses to let Medicare for All come to a vote. We demand that Mitch do what’s right for his constituents and the country – for once, and for all.

Our lives are on the line. We’ve fought hard to defend the care we have. It’s time to claim the care we deserve.

Will you join us as we demand Medicare For All now?

I am a voting constituent and I demand that every person attain their fundamental right to healthcare. I urge you to support the 2019 Medicare for All Act.

I know you care about your constituents. Here is one way to prove that. This act would ensure everyone has high-quality, compassionate, culturally competent care for medical, dental, and mental healthcare. This act would ensure there are no barriers against access for all races, classes, genders, sexual identities, ages, disabilities, locations, or any other differences.

I want my health and community's wellbeing to be prioritized over the profits of drug corporations, medical institutions, insurance companies, and Wall Street.
