The people of Louisiana deserve a budget that protects vital state services, and we need fair and adequate revenue measures that FUND this budget. We cannot continue to balance THE budget by continuing to eliminate or cut vital state programs and services the people of Louisiana rely on. If our legislators fail to pass a Funding Bill the consequences are dire;

• Currently 1 in 5 Louisiana residents receive nutritional assistance - half of those in need are children. The children of Louisiana depend on nutritional and health care assistance programs -we cannot cut these programs.
• TOPS the pathway many Louisiana families rely on to help their children attend college would face steep cuts and reductions
• Major departments including Veterans' Programs and the Department of Corrections face an almost 25 percent reduction in their operating budget. These departments will need to layoff state workers, putting vital programs and services that keep our communities healthy and safe at risk
