We Want a Safer Castor Avenue! -- Tell Local Leaders You Support Safer Crosswalks, Better Bus Stops, and Bike Lanes for Castor Ave

We the residents, workers, business owners, and visitors of Castor Ave support the proposed safety measures for this corridor.

Castor Ave from Oxford Circle to Cottman Ave ranks among the most dangerous streets in Philadelphia. From 2018-22 there were 197 crashes along Castor Avenue, five of which were fatalities.

We SUPPORT the PennDOT plan to calm traffic and improve the streetscape through:

  • A road diet, which will transform the four-lane existing corridor to two lanes with left turn lanes.
  • Raised curb extensions & boarding islands for SEPTA stops
  • Parking protected bike lanes to minimize pedestrian & vehicle conflicts

Nosotros, los residentes, trabajadores, dueños de negocios y visitantes de la Avenida Castor apoyamos las medidas de seguridad propuestas para este corredor.

La Avenida Castor desde Oxford Circle hasta la avenida Cottman se encuentran entre las calles más peligrosas de Filadelfia. Desde 2018-22, hubo 197 accidentes a lo largo de la Avenida Castor, cinco de los cuales resultaron en muertes.

Nosotros APOYAMOS el plan de PennDOT para calmar el tráfico y mejorar el paisaje urbano a través de:

  • Una remodelación de la calle, la cual transformara el corredor existente de cuatro carriles a dos carriles con carriles de giro hacia la izquierda.

  • Extensiones de aceras elevados y islas de embarque para las paradas de SEPTA

  • Estacionamiento de carriles de bicicleta protegidos para minimizar los conflictos entre peatones y vehículos.
