Year 2 for Norse Crew

Norse Atlantic Airways Management

A year ago, Norse Atlantic Airways gave us the opportunity to fly again and we want Norse to be around for many years to come. We still have yet to reach the high hopes and expectations for the airline we know it can be.

Despite us wishing and hoping for the best, we haven’t seen any progress on the cabin crew side. We have been promised many things here at Norse—decent paying schedules, a bidding system, a swapping system, and travel benefits. As of today, we haven’t seen any of these things materialize.

The only major changes we have experienced are being told minimum crew is reduced, having our crew breakfast at hotels taken away, and seeing some of our favorite and amazing colleagues leaving the Company to work elsewhere because they can’t afford to stay. All of these things have resulted in morale being at an all-time low.

Tell Norse Atlantic Airways Management to make good on their promises.

As we head into our second year of operations, it’s essential that we see changes. By “changes,” we mean real, tangible, heartfelt, and positive changes that benefit the crew members.

We can’t afford anymore pep talks or promises—we need action. We want Year 2 to be “For Norse Crew”. This involves many things but at the very least, the following items must be improved.

1. Reinstating (or reimbursing the cost) of breakfast at crew hotels.

2. Working with our AFA Scheduling Committee to select an automated bidding system for the crew and in the interim, develop a manual bidding system that will allow us some control over our schedules.

3. Getting us on the myIDtravel platform and negotiate travel agreements ASAP.

4. Work with our Union on securing reciprocal jumpseat agreements.

5. Train and qualify all new US cabin crew (hired this year) to work for on Norse UK AOC.
