To Representative Yvette Clarke,

We, the parents, caregivers, and family members of District 9, write to demand that you take a stand to stop the funding of genocide in Gaza and call for an immediate ceasefire.

The moment could not be more urgent; at this time over 18,500 Palestinians have been killed, nearly half of them children. The numbers grow every day. As parents, caregivers, and family members we are horrified by the violence and collective punishment being carried out by the Israeli government using our tax dollars. The United States’ complicity in Israel’s occupation, blockade, and apartheid must end.

You have stated that you, “wholeheartedly condemn the Hamas attacks on Israel and the escalating violence that has claimed the lives of thousands of innocent Palestinian women, children and men in Gaza." These words mean little if you fail to take concrete action to save lives.

We are calling on you to represent the values of District 9 with moral clarity and compassion for all people. Call for an immediate ceasefire in Congress and join the Ceasefire Resolution.
