Come party with us on Friday, August 2nd for the return of our famed fundraiser - Safe Space Jam: the 15-Year Celebration! Can you believe it’s been 15 years? From our humble beginnings as anti-harassment organizers at Hollaback! DC to a Black trans-led abolitionist organization, we’ve made it through several seasons of metamorphosis. We remain heartily rooted in our purpose with new blooming branches. That is something to be celebrated! Can't make it and still want to support? You can buy a ticket for someone else or donate to our Safe Space Jam fundraiser!

Be prepared to come on time to grab a bite as we will be offering food! We'll also have drink tickets for purchase from the bar. General admission includes one drink ticket that you can use for nonalcoholic beverages as well as beer, wine, and other alcoholic beverages. If you are interested, there are large sponsorship packages for organizations, businesses, and monied individuals. There will be an onsite silent auction of items as well. We will reveal more details about the experience soon!

We’re curating a CASS birthday bash to commune with our supporters, reminisce on historical CASS moments, enjoy wellness activation stations, learn more about our pivotal research assessing the needs of queer and trans BIPOC survivors of patriarchal violence, and raise funds to support our upcoming projects. It’s giving adult prom (but not cringe) with a purpose!

Your participation in Safe Space Jam is an opportunity to take action toward strengthening our community’s ability to respond to state and patriarchal violence without police or prisons. We’re raising $15K to create a community action framework and storytelling salons for our Safety in the Subversive Project. Community-powered funding allows us to expand our collective visions for community safety as opposed to limiting ourselves to what funders envision for our communities. We are grateful to have thrived for 15 years because of the consistent donations of hundreds of community members, and we plan to continue that legacy. The aim of this fundraiser is to increase our community investments to sustain our small grassroots organization, especially as we anticipate more political chaos and social upheaval in the future.

COVID Protocols & Accessibility Accommodations

This is our first in-person event since 2020, and we still believe safer spaces mean practicing COVID safety. This is a mask-required event, and we will have HEPA filters on site. Accessibility is a priority for us here at CASS. If you are in need of any accessibility accommodations, please notify Emem (emem@collectiveactiondc.org) with your requests by July 19th.

There is a ramp to the entrance on the left side of the door along with one handicap parking spot available. The space exists on one floor including the bathrooms. The restrooms can accommodate wheelchair access, but there is no accessibility button to hold the door open. Please feel free to let us know of any accommodations you may need.
