A dinner event to present Rebuilding Alliance’s Peacemaker Award to:

  • U.S. Representative Anna Eshoo

  • Right to Movement - Palestine

  • Geospatial Inf. Sys. Dept, Palestinian Ministry of Local Gov.

  • Bimkom: Planners for Planning Rights

in recognition of their ongoing efforts to encourage and assist Google and Apple in recognizing hundreds of Palestinian Villages on Google Maps and Apple Maps.

A Moment to Celebrate!

Due to the assistance of Representative Anna Eshoo and the organizations honored herein, Rebuilding Alliance is pleased to report that Google Maps is now recognizing the existence of the 236 Palestinian villages located in the West Bank’s Area C.

But a crisis is underway. In the past year, the Government of Israel demolished more Palestinian homes, schools, barns, and water systems than in any year since UNOCHA started collecting this data. To stop the bulldozers, Rebuilding Alliance has held some 262 briefings with Congressional staff and has brought Palestinian children to Congress — the most effective form of advocacy we’ve experienced — to explain what peace really means.

To stop the demolition bulldozers, we must do more. Please help Rebuilding Alliance join with Palestinian villages to launch the ‘Mapping Palestine: Community Mapathon’ program at schools and places of worship throughout the U.S. Let’s work together to map houses, schools, libraries, clinics, shops and barns on OpenStreetMap, Google Maps, and Apple Maps to show that the villages exist and to help them build their future.
