12th April Action Day - Leafleting in Whipton Barton

Let's get Jack Eade elected in Heavitree and Whipton Barton!

Note: if possible please bring a bike

Heavitree & Whipton Barton is one of our key target seats for the upcoming County Council elections, and is as tight as you can get. The Greens are coming in strong with two sitting City Councillors in Heavitree and a strong base of support, but Labour are the incumbents and are fielding a high-profile City Councillor as their candidate. If we want to make Jack Heavitree & Whipton Barton's first ever Green County Councillor, we need to push hard!

Our Exeter Action Days are a great way to get out and make a difference.

The Heavitree and Whipton Barton division is made up of two areas: Heavitree, where we have a strong existing support and volunteer base, and Whipton Barton, where we have done very little work in previous years. In order to get Jack elected, we need to reach those voters in the Whipton Barton area who we haven't yet spoken to.

Canvassing in Whipton in recent weeks has revealed an electorate who feel ignored by mainstream parties and are extremely disaffected. Many are just looking for a party to represent their needs and concerns. We can be that party. Just a couple of leaflets through someone's door, telling them who we are and what we represent, can make all the difference.

Here's our plan for the day (timings may be subject to change):

10:00 - Meet at the intersection of Hill Barton Lane and Leypark Rd for a quick briefing, pep talk and photos with Heavitree & Whipton Barton Division Organiser Jonah Corren.

10:15 - 12:15 - The group will split up for leafleting the rounds around Whipton Barton: there will be the option to take rounds individually, or to do so as pairs. Nearby rounds will be allocated to those on-foot: those with bikes will be allocated rounds elsewhere in the Division.

12:15 - 13:15 - Lunch (option to meet at Parklife Café in Heavitree)

13:30 - 16:00 - The group will meet again at the intersection of Hill Barton Lane and Leypark Rd, before splitting again for leafleting more rounds in the Whipton area

16:15 - 19:00 - Volunteers after-party at the Ship and Pelican, Heavitree's finest local establishment (optional)
