NC Coalition for Alternatives to the Death Penalty
20 Years With
No Executions
This summer, the NC Coalition for Alternatives to the Death Penalty invites you to join a statewide series of events marking 20 years since North Carolina’s last execution.
Across this series, directly impacted people, faith leaders, lawmakers, artists, attorneys, and scholars will examine how the death penalty touches every part of our society and what we’ve learned in a generation without executions. As officials push to resume state killing, we believe the people of North Carolina deserve to be part of the conversation.
These events are free and open to the public, designed for folks of all backgrounds. Whether you oppose the death penalty, are still wrestling with what you believe, or haven't considered it much at all, we hope you will join us. If you have spent years organizing for abolition, these spaces are for you too.
“We cannot create justice without getting close to places where injustices prevail. We have to get proximate.”
