Abdun Matin for Delegate

GBDSA member Abdun Matin is running for state delegate in district 9b (Howard County).

Abdun Matin is a licensed mental health therapist, non profit leader, and Maryland advocate dedicated to building healthier and more equitable communities. He currently works as a Program Therapist at Thrive Behavioral Health, providing mental health services to adults and youth.

With advanced training in psychology and professional counseling, Matin has spent over a decade leading charitable initiatives, advocacy efforts, and community programs across Maryland and the DMV region. His work includes raising over $1 million for humanitarian causes, establishing food pantries and social service programs, and advocating for mental health access, human rights, and hunger prevention.

Matin has worked alongside community leaders, nonprofit organizations, and elected officials to deliver practical solutions for vulnerable populations. Fluent in multiple languages and deeply connected to diverse communities, he brings compassion, experience, and results-driven leadership to public service.
