At the 2025 National convention, we voted as an organization to look seriously into making an endorsement in the 2028 Democratic presidential primary. The resolution we passed says we’ll explore building a broad left-labor coalition that, through a presidential primary campaign, will lay the foundations for a future workers’ party.

This summer, Boston chapter leadership committed to host a series of Town Halls dedicated to early planning and strategizing around 2028 and all it has to offer—a presidential election, general strike, statewide and local elections and ballot measures. As one of the largest and most multi-tendency chapters, Boston DSA is uniquely positioned to develop rigorous strategies and enact robust tactics towards building power in the coming years.

Town Halls will involve reading, lecture, small group discussion, debate, and consensus-building practices. Borrowing from Bernie Night Schools, worker circles, and other practices throughout history, Town Halls aim to elevate our knowledge, bring us closer together, and build organizers to increase our chapter's capacity for whatever we decide to do in 2028. Town Halls will cover a variety of topics, from civics to labor strategy.

Town Halls are intended to contain both introductory and advanced elements to engage with members across the spectrum of involvement—if you just moved here this year for school from another country, or if you've lived here and been politically active your entire life, we have something for everyone. Suggested readings will be provided in advance of meetings, and printed summaries will be available at the door.

Food will be provided, and all Town Hall attendees are invited to join a social after every event!
