Call Your State Senator and Tell Them To Vote NO on Anti-Community Benefits Agreement Bill!

Tennessee legislators are working to advance an anti-Community Benefits Agreement bill that takes away our power as workers and community members to demand fair wages, local hire, investments in our communities and accountability from corporations set to make billions from development across our state. A Community Benefits Agreement, just like a union contract, guarantees long-term representation of the community and long-term accountability from the corporation. Once again, our state legislature sides with billionaires and big corporations NOT our communities. That's not right. We must put our people and communities first.
Hello, my name is (YOUR FULL NAME) and I am a resident in (YOUR COUNTY AND CITY).
I am calling to share my concern with (YOUR STATE SENATOR) regarding the anti-Community Benefits Agreement Bill or SB1074.
When Tennessee gives economic incentives to companies to develop in our state, they are using our taxpayer dollars. It's only right that we as taxpayers and investors in the project have a say in how that development happens in our communities. Community Benefits Agreements allow us to have a voice and call for common sense investments like local hire that only benefit the workers and local residents in that area. If big developments are coming to our town then we want to make sure that we benefit from it not just the company.
Can I count on you to stand with communities and vote no on SB1074?
