Democratize ComEd
#DemocratizeComEd is a campaign of the Chicago Democratic Socialists of America and its allies. The purpose of this campaign to achieve the municipalization of the Chicago utility assets of Commonwealth Edison (ComEd) and the creation of a democratically-controlled, municipal utility. In light of the expiration of the 30-year Franchise Agreement with the city, today is the opportune moment to seize control of our energy and democratically determine the future of our energy policy.
The Democratize ComEd campaign is a coalition of the Chicago Democratic Socialists of America, 33rd Ward Working Families, University of Illinois Graduate Employees Organization (UIC-GEO) Local 6297, Food & Water Watch, Sunrise Movement Chicago, and the Edgewater Environmental Sustainability Project (EESP).
