Metro DC DSA has endorsed Shayla Adams-Stafford for Prince George's County Council District 5 seat again!

In a major win for residents Adams-Stafford won the special election last year and has made tremendous strides supporting people over profits. After only 6 months in office the Councilmember has:

• Closed 71% of constituent cases closed, delivering timely support across housing, public safety, and public works
• Invested $850,000+ in grants & sponsorships to strengthen District 5 organizations
• Enacted 59 bills & adopted 77 resolutions in the 2025 legislative session
• Sponsored several community-centered programs including a backpack drive, federal worker resource hubs, food distributions, and a senior soirée
• Introduced legislation to support the creative economy and strengthen land-use transparency
• And more!

Adams-Stafford started out on the school board and fought back against developers to get strong project labor agreements on public school projects. Now as part of the Council, she continues to stand with residents most notably by leading the pause on permits for the data center in Landover which residents largely oppose. To continue the fight for the people, Shayla must WIN the seat again!
