THIS MONTH: Register For El Pueblo Unido's Community Defense Volunteer Trainings & Help Defend Our Community Before, During, and After ICE Attacks!

El Pueblo Unido is training volunteers to join our Community Defense Teams, a grassroots defense network that prepares, protects, and supports immigrant communities across Atlantic and Cape May counties. Through Know Your Rights, Rapid Response, and Accompaniment, volunteers will learn how to defend our neighbors before ICE enters our neighborhoods, during ICE enforcement activity, and after families are impacted by detention.

Volunteers will learn how to share Know Your Rights information through community outreach, how to observe and document ICE enforcement activity safely, and how to accompany families through detention center visits, ICE check-ins, court hearings, and other urgent appointments. These hands-on trainings will walk you step by step through our Know Your Rights, Rapid Response, and Accompaniment models, including how to communicate through our defense network, coordinate with our legal and support teams, and stay calm, prepared, and grounded in high-pressure situations.
