Eviction Outreach
Join PATHE Eviction Outreach and Court Watch Program sponsored by Metro Human Relations Commission.
We are going into neighborhoods and to the courthouse to let people know they are more than just collateral damage, to walk through this crisis together and keep people housed. Transparency and accountability depend on The People bearing witness and accompanying one another. This week we learned that the city has distributed only $3 million of the almost $20 million intended to provide rent relief to people facing eviction. This is unconscionable. As the expiration of the CDC moratorium looms, nobody should be waiting months to find out whether they will receive aid. We will not sit by, as our city has, while Nashville residents slip through the holes in our system.
There are already hundreds of people facing eviction hearings in General Sessions Court in August. We are going door to door to let people know what resources are available and to support their efforts to stay housed. There are events each weekend in July beginning Saturday, July 10th. Sign up Now!
In addition to outreach, our Court Watch program begins June 29th. Trainings will occur on Tuesdays in July. Sign Up Now!
