Georgia Clean Your Ash!

The Georgia Clean Your Ash (#GACleanYourAsh) campaign is organizing to ensure that the State of Georgia requires Georgia Power to clean up and contain its millions of tons of toxic coal ash
At 12 of Georgia Power’s 13 coal plant sites across Georgia, toxic chemicals from the coal ash have been leeching into and polluting nearby wells, streams, lakes, and rivers for years. This is unacceptable, everyone deserves clean water, no matter what.
In 2021, the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) will release permits for how it will require Georgia Power to address coal ash pollution at sites around the state. Georgia Power has asked EPD to let them leave over 50 million tons of coal ash in unlined landfills. This approach allows coal ash toxins to continue leaking into our groundwater.
EPD could give Georgia Power’s dangerous plan the green light, leaving us with pollution for generations to come. Are you ready to tell EPD to do what’s right? Join concerned impacted communities and allies across Georgia as a part of our campaign to stop coal ash from polluting our waters.
