Lift Retail Jobs, Lift Families, Lift Our Economy!

Welcome to Jobs with Justice's Lift Retail Jobs campaign page!

This is your central hub for taking action to Lift Retail Jobs.  View the actions relating to the campaign on the right side panel and click them to view details and sign up.

But first things first:  please call your City-County Councilor right now and tell them to Support Special Resolution 37, the Retail Workers Bill of Rights, because all retail workers deserve:

  • Fair and predictable schedules
  • Access to full-time hours
  • Affordable healthcare, regardless of full-time or part-time status

If you know the name of your councilor, go here to find their contact information.

If you are not sure who your councilor is, look it up here or call Constituent Services at 317-327-4241.

A little about the Lift Retail Jobs campaign:

The retail industry in Indianapolis is one of the largest, fastest growing sectors of the economy and a significant employer of women and people of color, but many of these jobs are low-wage, part-time positions with erratic hours that are preventing retail workers from climbing up the economic ladder.

It hurts our entire city when retail workers don't make enough to make ends meet.  Central Indiana Jobs with Justice is leading the charge to lift standards in the retail industry and make Indianapolis a better place to live and work.  Join our fight for an economy that works for everybody.

Currently we are working to pass a Retail Workers Bill of Rights for Indianapolis.  The Retail Workers Bill of Rights calls for access to full-time hours, fair and predictable scheduling, and affordable healthcare for every worker in the retail industry.

The most important thing you can do to help right now is call your City-County Councilor and ask them to vote for the Retail Workers Bill of Rights.  Click here to look up your councilor, along with their contact information, or call Constituent Services at 317-327-4241 and ask them for the name and number of your City-County Councilor.
