No New Jail invites you to give comment at Cuyahoga County Council Meetings
Come fellow concerned community members and No New Jails to say "NO WAY" to the new jail boondoggle at County Council meetings
Cuyahoga County officials want to build a costly, unneeded new jail in our community, and are trying to push the project through at great cost and without any taxpayer and community input.
We say no way!
Join us at bi-weekly county council meetings to give public testimony against this project. Council meetings are at 5pm, and "Committee of the Whole" meetings are at variable times, often decided the Friday before (fun, right?). They are supposed to be at 1pm, but are often at 4pm. We update the dates and times once we know the accurate information.
Please RSVP for each event you can attend.
Please find all the current meetings on the right side of this page (in red text!). Click on any of them to RSVP.
Why are there two events per day? Because there are two meetings: and both allow public comment!
Council meetings are at 5pm, and we get there at 4:30pm.
Committee of the Whole: these are afternoon working meetings. They're supposed to be at 1pm, but for SOME REASON they keep switching them at the last minute, usually to 3pm or 4pm. We'll change the time as soon as we find out what time it is. You can also check on the county council website, which is here).
Current Cuyahoga County Council Meeting schedule:
November 14, 2023 5pm
November 28, 2023 5pm
Note: there are 2024 budget meetings going on as well. We will have an event for the November 13th public comments on the budget. Stay tuned for that!
