GENERAL INFORMATION. The sponsor of  Your Chance To See Joe Biden  (“Sweepstakes”) is the LaSalle County Democratic Central Committee (“Committee”), PO Box 591 Ottawa, IL 61350. The Sweepstakes will begin on July 25, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. Central time (“CT”), and will end on August 5, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. CT (“Sweepstakes Period”). The Committee reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to shorten or extend the Sweepstakes Period at any time. Odds of being selected as a winner depend upon number of eligible entries received.

ELIGIBILITY. Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the continental United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older as of the start of the Sweepstakes Period.

TO ENTER. Entries may be made electronically and must include your full name, mailing address, phone number, and e-mail address. To enter by making a contribution, click here. To enter without making a contribution, click here. Alternatively, you may mail a 3” x 5” postcard with your name, address, email address (if you have one) and telephone number to “LaSalle County Democrats Events” PO Box 591 Ottawa, IL 61350. Entries must be received (including those that are mailed) by August 5, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. Central time, and the drawing will be held on or about the day of August 7, 2018 in the Committee's office. Limit one entry per person, regardless of method.

WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION. On or about the day of August 7, 2018, the potential Winner (as defined below) will be selected at random via a computer program from all eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Period. The Committee will make two (2) attempts to notify the potential Winner via the phone number and/or email address provided at the time of entry. If potential Winner cannot be reached, the Committee will select another entrant at random.

PRIZE. There will be one (1) prize (“Prize”) awarded to the entrant chosen at random and who otherwise complies with these Official Rules (“Winner”). Prize will consist of the following for Winner: The approximate retail value of this opportunity is $50, but the actual value will vary depending on exact travel arrangements and specific events, which shall be determined at the sole discretion of the Committee. No substitution or cash alternative is available to Winner and Guest. All taxes on the receipt and use of the Prize are the sole responsibility of the Winner.

The Committee is not responsible if the Event is postponed or cancelled for any reason, in whole or in part, or if the Winner cannot be confirmed with sufficient time to attend the Gala. Winner may not have an opportunity to meet Joe Biden. If Winner cannot attend the event on August 16, 2018, Prize will be forfeited and the Prize may be awarded to an alternate.

DISPUTES. The Sweepstakes is governed by, and will be construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Illinois. If any controversy or claim is not otherwise resolved through direct discussions or mediation, it shall then be resolved by final and binding arbitration. The remedy for any claim shall be limited to actual damages, and in no event shall any party be entitled to recover punitive, exemplary, consequential, or incidental damages, including attorney’s fees or other such related costs of bringing a claim, or to rescind this agreement or seek injunctive or any other equitable relief.  

CONDITIONS. By entering, each entrant agrees for the entrant, Guest, and their heirs, executors, and administrators, to release and hold harmless the Committee, its directors, officers, employees and agents from any liability for any claims, costs, injuries, losses, or damages arising out of or in connection with this opportunity; attests that s/he is of majority age; and confirms that s/he has adhered to all laws applicable to him/her with respect to the entrance and participation in this opportunity. The Winner agrees that the Committee may publicize Winner’s name, image, voice, and/or likenesses, and a description of the day's activities. The Committee is not obligated to compensate Winner for any publicity.

This Sweepstakes is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Twitter, or any other social media forum. By participating, you hereby release and hold harmless Facebook and Twitter from any and all liability associated with the Sweepstakes. Information provided in connection with the Sweepstakes is being provided to the Committee and not to Facebook or Twitter.

No express warranties or implied warranties are created by entry. The Committee is not responsible for computer, software, network, or transmission problems or late, lost, or misdirected entries or other submission errors. In the event that Winner engages in behavior that (as determined by the Committee in its sole and absolute discretion) is inappropriate, threatening or unlawful, the Committee reserves the right to terminate the Prize early.

All national, federal, state and local laws and regulations governing such opportunities shall apply. EMPLOYEES OF THE COMMITTEE AND ANY OF ITS AFFILIATED ENTITIES, PROGRAMS AND INITIATIVES ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE.
