PANDA home page

PANDA (Protesting At Height Northern Development for Activists) is an independent grassroots project which aims to facilitate the sharing of skills relevant to protesting at height through workshops hosted in Sheffield. PANDA stands in solidarity with social and environmental movements but remains autonomous from any movement. PANDA's autonomy means that those who attend workshops can do so without any expectation or commitment to use their skills in a protest situation. PANDA is not involved in doing or organising any direct action.

PANDA is a backronym and not a very good one at that! PANDA is not a school, we are not running training courses and we are not instructors. Pandas enjoy climbing things and learning from one another and so do we!

PANDA will be hosting one day workshops during February to April. Our first two are Feb 7th (click here) and Feb 21st (click here). These workshops will be hosted indoors and are suitable to people with all existing skill levels. However, a basic level of fitness is needed. Workshops don't have a set program. Each will be run in an organic way based around who is there. Workshops will be advertised on action network as and when we are able to organise them. There are a limited number of sign up spaces for each workshop. If you have signed up to a workshop but realise you can no longer attend, please let us know.

If there isn't a workshop available for you to sign up for, please do email us, at pandasheffield@proton.me, to express your interest. This will help us know how much demand there is for more workshops. And sign up to our mailing list so you can be the first to know when new workshops are announced.

Finally, please contribute to our crowdfunder page (will be shared soon) or donate cash at one of our workshops to help us cover our expenses. We, at PANDA, are all volunteers.
