Solidarity with Palestine: Land and Climate Justice Webinar
Join this webinar to learn from Palestinian, Jewish, and First Nations speakers about the connections between land and climate justice and solidarity with Palestine.
Right now, we are witnessing a massive global movement calling for a ceasefire in Gaza and for a free Palestine. Diverse sections of society are coming together in solidarity: from faith communities, unions, human rights organisations, and community groups, to writers, artists, academics, sports people, and politicians - the list goes on.
This is an opportunity for people in the climate movement to learn more about the connections between our work for climate justice and the movement for a free Palestine - examining fossil fuel expansion, environmental racism, and climate vulnerability under Israel's apartheid regime and military occupation.
This will be a space to respectfully listen, learn, and explore our role in solidarity as a climate justice movement. It will also be a space free of racism, including Islamophobia and anti-Semitism. This event is jointly hosted by Action Aid, Democracy in Colour, Friends of the Earth Australia, Muslim Collective, Tipping Point, and 350.org Australia.
The webinar will take place online via Zoom on Thursday Nov 30, 2023 06:30 PM (AEDT) with speakers to be confirmed shortly.
