In 2023, RMT was at the forefront of a wide-ranging campaign to stop cuts to railway station ticket offices. The public consultation received an unprecedented number of responses with 750,000 people raising objections which saw the proposed closures halted.

Sadly, in 2025, individual companies are reviving plans to cuts ticket office hours, reduce staffing and make our railways less safe and accessible for passengers.
