Public Transit Tampa Bay
Capitalism exploits basic needs as a mechanism to continuously siphon wealth and power from the working class. This is evident with the high costs of car ownership, toll roads, parking lots, fuel, etc.; not to mention the time wasted in traffic and the appropriation of land for individual automobile transportation that could be used for housing, green spaces, community centers, schools, or other public benefits.
Taking a socialist perspective on Tampa's abysmal transit system, we could reimagine the way we travel to consider public safety, land use, and environmental wellbeing. Join us in our campaign to improve public transit in Hillsborough county, because fighting for transportation is fighting for the working class and for a greener, healthier way to travel.
