We're coming to Brighton! General Election 2019: Polling Day 12th of December
General Election 2019: Polling day
Support the parliamentary campaigns of Caroline Lucas, Alexandra Phillips and Ollie Sykes as we look to send three Green MPs back to Parliament on December 12th.
There are two main tasks we need your help with:
- Telling: this means sitting outside a polling station wearing a Green rosette and asking for voters' polling roll numbers. Seeing a friendly, Green-rosetted person encourages people making up their mind at the last minute to vote Green; and collecting their numbers allows us to avoid 'knocking up' people who have already voted.
- Knocking up: this means visiting people who have already told us they are going to vote Green, to remind them to go to the polling station.
You'll be fully briefed, with a named contact and a 'base' to go to on the day for refreshments.
To let us know which of these tasks you would like to help out with, where and when, we've created SignUp pages for polling day across Brighton Pavilion, Brighton Kemptown and Hove. Please follow the below links and let us know which ward you want to help in and when you're available. Simply click the 'sign up' button next to the tasks/time-slots you're up for, fill in your details and we'll be in touch!

A message from Caroline:
"Thanks to the tireless work of Green Party members and supporters like you, we’ve run 3 successful General Election campaigns and I’ve had the chance to represent this wonderful city for the last 9 years.
On December the 12th – I’m asking for your help again.
Of all the elections we have fought and won together, this feels like the most important.
Our planet faces a climate emergency and in this election we are fighting for the future of all generations to come.
Whatever happens on December 12th we need Green voices in Parliament pushing others to take urgent action now.
Will you help by giving some time on election day?
Across Brighton and Hove we will need hundreds of people to make sure we turn out our Green voters.
You can help by either knocking on doors to remind people to get out there and vote or by spending an hour or two at a polling station to be a friendly Green presence as people turn up to vote.
Polling day is the most important day of the campaign! So whether you’ve already been out on the streets or whether this is the first chance you’ve had to help, please do get involved if you possibly can! And as an added incentive, I’m planning to visit every single polling station with vegan mince pies!
If you can give any time at all on the 12th, please sign up or reply to this email if you have any questions.
Thank you for everything you are doing.
Caroline "
