It’s
sometimes said that socialism is a foreign import—un-American even.
This just isn't true. NYC DSA’s Night School will devote its spring term
to exploring the great socialists this country has produced. Over eight
biweekly classes, we'll look at the full history, from the early 19th
century Utopians, through the Popular Front of the 1930s and the New
Left of the 1960s/1970s, and on to DSA and other socialist movements of
our time. Though we’re usually fighting long odds, we have lots to be
proud of, and we hope Socialists of America Spring will give us
intellectual fuel for today’s struggles.
