Statewide Teach-In on the Bayou Bridge Pipeline! February 3rd- 5th.
Help others learn about the Bayou Bridge Pipeline by hosting a teach-in. This is low pressure. You can simply ask a few people to meet you for a drink, an ice cream - whatever you like. You can host a few people or a crowd. Host it in your home, at a coffee shop, library, bar - ANYWHERE! Our first event sign up is at a playground. Parents will chat about the pipeline while their kids play. We will give you resources and materials that you can use to educate yourself and others.
The Bayou Bridge Pipeline is a 162 mile pipeline across south Louisiana that will destroy our wetlands. The project threatens our drinking water and our crawfish while providing only 12 permanent jobs. It will cause more flooding and exacerbate climate change. There really is no good reason for this pipeline!
Energy Transfer Partners, the company that wants to build the pipeline, is also the company behind the Dakota Access Pipeline. Energy Transfer Partners is heavily in debt and is in no shape to be a responsible operator.
But WE are responsible. Let's stop this pipeline, stand up for our state and lead the shift away from fossil fuels and toward renewable energy.
