We Stand With Paris
We are feeling so incredibly sad by the tragic violence in Paris. Our hearts go out to the families of the victims, to the injured, to all those whose lives have been disrupted. Your heartache and pain resonate with us. We are called upon to respond in ways that lift up the many voices for peace, tolerance, and justice.
To that end, we are helping to facilitate gatherings in cities where there is a French Embassy or Consulate, to show with our bodies and our attention that this shall not pass. The terrorists will not win.
We are also going to lift up our voices in a great call for unity. Unity of Americans and French; of Muslims, Christians, Jews and all other faiths. Of people of color and white people. Of immigrants and the native-born. We are all of us part of the human family, roused to support each other in times of pain. To comfort each other. To redress wrongs. To bring about a better world.
Thank you to everyone who is joining with us at this time.
