Lancaster Stands Up is partnering with Our Revolution and Keystone Progress to hold town halls and house meetings all across our newly drawn congressional district, PA-11. Our new district includes southern York County and all of Lancaster County.
- Residents of the district will be organizing the meetings and inviting people in your community to participate, with support from Lancaster Stands Up, Our Revolution, and Keystone Progress.
- We'll help recruit people to your town hall meeting, which you can schedule for anytime the week of April 9-15.
- We're also providing a planning guide and other support.
- These town halls will serve to launch a massive grassroots effort to flip our district in 2018 and build long-term people-power to change our country.
If you share our vision of revitalizing our democracy by bringing everyday people into the political process, and if you want to help to work for an America that works for all of us, then sign up to host an event. These events will help us to get ourselves organized into a force that can take on big money and entrenched power; that can win elections and win on the issues.
More information:
Congressman Lloyd Smucker has not held a single public town hall meeting with constituents. Where is Lloyd? He’s holding private meetings with large donors and staging photo ops with cherry-picked audiences. This is unacceptable. If Rep. Smucker won’t hold a single public town hall meeting, then we—his constituents—will hold town hall meetings all across our district.
At these town halls we’ll talk about what's important to the people of PA-11 and how Lloyd Smucker has been failing to represent us. We'll also talk about why Lancaster Stands Up members voted to endorse Jess King, who is working to replace Lloyd in November. We'll discuss where Jess stands on the issues and her track record of showing up for our community.
These town halls are the first step in launching a massive, people-powered effort across our district. We're digging in for the long haul, starting by defeating Lloyd and electing Jess in November.
We've heard from people all over who feel isolated and left behind. But you are not alone. There are people in every corner of our district looking to get involved and make positive change. We need you to make it happen. Lancaster Stands Up, Our Revolution, and Keystone Progress will be there to help. We’re providing a guide on how to put together a town hall in your area or a house meeting in your home. We’ll connect you with other people in your area who want to help. And we will recruit people in your area to attend.
