Join Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, DSA, and the Ocasio 2018 team as we march in the 1 Bronx Pride Parade!

Pride will be hosted by stars of the groundbreaking FX series Pose and Tym Moss. Featuring performances by Jiggly Caliente (RuPaul’s Drag Race S4) and more.

The theme of the Festival March will be RESIST. BE HEARD. BE VALIANT. The Ocasio Team plans on being the most radical, vocal and courageous marchers of the day. Our meeting point is Starbucks (260 E 161st St.) at 10:30 am. We'll discuss our game plan and head on over as a group to get in parade placement. At 11:00 am we kick off the Pride March on the steps of Bronx Borough Hall, 851 Grand Concourse. Ocasio marchers will travel down 161st Street and merge onto Third Avenue where they will be welcomed into the 1 Bronx Pride Festival where we’ll have a booth set-up to engage with 15,000 attendees.

This action event is in a neighboring district of the Bronx (NY-15) but as we learned from our Queens Pride event, Pride is geographically inter-sectional with people from all over NYC in attendance. The focus will be on identifying and engaging voting residents of (NY-14) neighborhoods:

Parkchester, Bronx Park, Castle Hill, Malba, Middletown, Pelham Bay, Pelham Parkway, Pelham Gardens, Morris Park, Parkside, Schuylerville, Throggs Neck, Westchester Square, Country Club, East Bronx, City Island and Allerton.

We will have pre-made Ocasio pride logo signs with language on them that focuses on Bronx NY-14 residents, voting and LGBTQIA+ rights.

ATTIRE + DEVICES: Ocasio Pride shirts will be available for you to wear. If you have your Pride shirt from the Queens event please bring it. Please wear purple which is the base color of our Ocasio 2018 banner for continuity and all the glitter you want. Other than that just bring your bodies, phones and download the VANgo app to identify voters.
