Join us for a virtual comment party to speak out against the proposed hybrid gas-electric compressor station in Chesapeake, VA. This facility — planned near several environmental justice communities and a local middle school — would be tied to the Virginia Reliability Project and used to power AI paper production for Smurfit WestRock.

Compressor stations are industrial facilities that release toxic air pollutants while pushing gas through pipelines, thereby placing surrounding communities at risk of long-term health and environmental harm.

We need at least 20 public comments submitted to the Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC) by May 23rd to trigger a formal hearing and your voice can help us reach that goal.

At this event, we’ll give you a brief overview of the project, walk you through the comment process, provide talking points, and answer any questions you have. Whether it’s your first time taking action or you’ve done this before, you’ll leave with a comment submitted and a sense of connection to others fighting for environmental justice in Virginia.

Let’s show decision-makers that our communities are watching and we demand better.
