There’s an ongoing tenant organizing campaign at Summerwind Apartments in East San José. Tenants there have been living in terrible conditions and formed a tenant union, the Summerwind Tenant Association. They called Code Enforcement over a year ago, which finally led to a report. But despite a deadline back in June, the landlord still hasn't made repairs, and Code Enforcement hasn't issued any fines or enforcement.

Tenants are now organizing to pack the Code Enforcement Appeals Board meeting to make their voices heard:

• Thursday, Nov 13, 6:30 PM
• San José City Hall, Council Chambers
• General public comment at the end of the agenda (as an item was not agendized). Please be ready to wait potentially a few hours.

They are asking for community support, especially from DSA, to show solidarity, fill the room, and finally be heard.
