Thank you for your interest in joining DSA's National Political Education Committee! We're excited to have you help develop our national political education program.
We're taking applications through March 31, 2025. Applications are reviewed by NPEC's Steering Committee and appointed by the NPC. These applications will be for the term starting May 1, 2025 and ending April 30, 2026. After an initial review process, there will be an interview process for approved applicants, requests for recommendations, and finally recommendations by NPEC and approval by the NPC. We will notify applicants via email of their progress through the process.
NPEC is currently a 28 member body with a three person steering committee and one chair. We have four standing subcommittees (curriculum, chapter support, communications, and events) and currently a few ad hoc committees/projects for limited-duration reading groups and cross-committee collaborations in support of DSA priorities.
- Trainings and Chapter Support, which holds regular workshops to support local political education programs, develop DSA members' skill base, and connect chapters with experienced mentors
- Events and Speakers, which hosts national political education events year-round on basic socialist ideas and critical issues in our current movement
- Curriculum, which develops an expanding library of ready-to-use political education materials
- Communications, which broadcasts and furthers our committee's work through social media, our podcast, and our newsletter
- Along with other Ad-Hoc Subcommittees like our Capital Reading Group and planning for Socialism Conference and DSA Convention.
