Accessibility
At Trans Pride Washington DC, we are committed to creating an inclusive and accessible space for all. This event will be hosted at an accessible venue in downtown Washington, DC. At the street level, the building’s entrance is flat with several automatic doors to gain entry. The building has numerous elevator banks that will take guests to various levels of the building. You can find our volunteers onsite and at the registration desk to help provide accessibility information to those who may need assistance.
This year, we are offering American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation for requested workshops. We recognize that accessibility is an ongoing process. If you have access needs that aren’t currently met, please reach out to us at accessibility@transpridewashingtondc.org or stop by the registration table on the day of the event.
We ask all attendees to help us build a supportive environment by expressing accessibility needs, making space for those using mobility devices, respecting service animals, and honoring different ways people communicate. Be mindful of sensory sensitivities by avoiding strong fragrances, flashing lights, and loud noises. Remember that not all disabilities are visible. Accessibility is a shared responsibility—and part of how we build a community rooted in care and solidarity.
Health & Safety
We encourage attendees to wear masks while indoors. We will have masks available at the registration desk. We will also have hand sanitizer available throughout the event space. If you are not feeling well please stay home and take care of yourself! If an attendee of the event does test positive for COVID following the event please email us at accessibility@transpridewashingtondc.org and we will notify attendees of possible exposure.
Safety & Security
The safety and well-being of all attendees at Trans Pride Washington, DC are our top priorities. We are committed to creating a welcoming and secure environment for trans, non-binary, gender-expansive individuals and our allies.
Security personnel will be present throughout the event to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for everyone. Additionally, volunteers will be available to assist attendees and address any concerns. If you experience or witness any behavior that makes you feel unsafe, please report it to event staff or security immediately.
We also ask attendees to be mindful of each other's space and respect personal boundaries. Harassment, discrimination, or any form of violence will not be tolerated. If you need support, a designated quiet space will be available where you can take a break and access resources.
If you have any safety concerns before or during the event, please reach out to us at hello@transpridewashingtondc.org.
