In October, USW members lobbied the Massachusetts State Senate in support of legislation to expand the state’s “Move Over Law.” That effort paid off when the Senate unanimously passed the bill, extending protections to utility workers and motorists stranded on the roadside.

The bill now moves to the Massachusetts House of Representatives, where it is still under consideration. As we’ve seen, direct engagement from working people makes a difference, and continued advocacy will be key as the House takes up this legislation.
