Practicing Democracy: Organizing for Justice Workshop
3-day professional development opportunity in collaboration with Battle Creek Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation and Michigan Transformation Collective to bring Midwest Academy to Southwest Michigan. Midwest Academy facilitates organizing training for emerging organizers, nonprofit staff, educators, and community leaders.

Thursday, March 5th, 10am - 4:30pm
Friday, March 6th, 10am - 4:30pm
Saturday, March 7th, 10am - 3pm

Join at no cost to participants nor their workplace.

Over the course of three days, we will learn:

• Strategic organizing skills, including campaign development, base building, and leadership development

• Political analysis frameworks that integrate racial justice perspectives and identify root causes

• Personal sustainability strategies for long-term effectiveness in organizing and advocacy work

• Coalition-building expertise to strengthen collaborative efforts

• Power analysis tools to better understand and navigate organizational dynamics
