4th Annual Rosie the Riveter Ride and Tour

Join us on Saturday, Sept 12 for the 4th Annual Rosie Ride! As always, we'll take take public transit to the Rosie the Riveter World War II Home Front National Historical Park Visitor Center in Richmond for a free educational tour led by NPS rangers, where we'll learn about the pivotal role thousands of Bay Area women played in winning World War Two.

This year, we're supporting riders coming via ferry from San Francisco, as well as those arriving via bus from Richmond BART.

**RIDERS PLEASE BE AWARE THE RIDES ARE NOT FREE: The ferry and bus rides are priced at the standard rates. Ferry ride from SF to Richmond is $5.20 one-way/$10.40 roundtrip. Bus ride is $2.75**

The agenda for the day is as follows:

FERRY RIDERS:

  • 12:45pm - Arrive at SF Ferry Terminal F2 to meet Transbay Coalition volunteers, Rosie the Riveter Center guides
  • 1:05pm - Board the 1:05 ferry to Richmond - FREE for guests of this event!
  • 1:40pm - Arrive Richmond Ferry Terminal

BUS RIDERS:

  • 1pm - Arrive at Richmond BART at 1pm, walk over to bus depot to meet Transbay Coalition volunteers and Rosie the Riveter Center guides
  • 1:17pm - Catch the 1:17pm bus to Richmond Ferry Terminal
  • 1:40pm - Arrive Richmond Ferry Terminal

ALL PARTICIPANTS:

  • 1:40-1:50 - Ferry + bus groups join for brief speaking program from local community leaders
  • 1:50-2:00pm - Walk from ferry terminal to Rosie the Riveter Visitor Center
  • 2:00-3:40pm - Special tour of the Rosie the Riveter National Historical Park, including a live demonstration of HAM radio
  • 3:40-3:50pm - Walk back to ferry terminal

RETURN JOURNEYS:

  • FERRY RIDERS - Free ferry ride back to San Francisco, departing at 4:15
  • BUS RIDERS - Bus ride back to Richmond BART, departing at 3:59PM (next bus at 4:30)
