Dear Yale Alumni and Students,

Please join us for an important briefing the status of academic freedom at Yale – both the challenges that already existed before Yale began negotiating with the DOJ, and the further degradation that would ensue should a settlement take place. We hosted a panel on these topics at reunions in May: now, we want to expand this conversation and make it available to the entire Stand Up for Yale community.

You’ll hear from three Yale professors about the challenges that they are already facing in their daily work, and the current campus climate:

  • Amy Kapczynski, John Thomas Smith Professor of Law at Yale Law School

  • Gregg Gonsalves, Professor of Epidemiology at the Yale School of Public Health

  • Daniel HoSang, Professor of American Studies and Political Science at Yale University, and President of the Yale chapter of the American Association of University Professors

You’ll also hear up-to-date information about the Yale administration’s ongoing efforts to negotiate with the Trump administration, and learn what more you can do to help address these challenges.
