The US non-profit sector is a trillion dollar industry, and one that holds particular sway in left-wing organizing and generally here in the Triangle. Join the Political Education Committee for our final session on the non-profit industrial complex.
Key questions we will discuss include:
- How should relate to non-profits?
- What incentives do non-profits create when they enter organizing spaces?
- What strategies can we use to work outside them?
In this third and final session, we will read two essays on the Non-Profit Industrial Complex that are not contained in the collection we've been reading:
- Emma Tai, “‘Occupation: Organizer’: How Anti-Politics Becomes Anti-Democracy”
- LeftRoots, “Developing Mass Protagonism”
When: Thursday, July 2, 7-8:30 pm (session 3)
Where: Namu - 5420 Durham-Chapel Hill Blvd, Durham, NC 27707
