Music Workers Emergency March For Survival
Start: Monday, October 26, 2020•12:00 PM
End: Monday, October 26, 2020• 2:00 PM
The Senate continues to block unemployment benefits, threatening our survival and undermining State and Local health policy. Our $600 supplement expired on July 31st and ALL benefits for freelance/1099 workers will end soon if no action is taken!
While we fully support protecting public health, there is no plan to safely reopen live music. NY State and City government has prevented musicians from earning a living; even in situations where equivalent businesses (e.g. restaurants) were permitted carefully regulated re-openings. Cuomo and DeBlasio must negotiate with music workers now!
We need all music workers, fans & allies to join us on Monday, October 26 to tell the politicians: We are not expendable.
No gigs + No Benefits = WE CAN’T LIVE
