                   Please validate your visitor parking ticket by 5:30 p.m. at the Forum's reception desk on                         the 20th floor at the Hunton & Williams' Office to ensure that your parking is free.  Parking is                        also available at the James Center (1051 East Cary Street). The rate is $3 for the entire                                      evening if you arrive after 4 pm and leave by 3am.

WHO:        Our event is free and welcomes everyone who has an interest in the prosperity of                                      Latinos in the Commonwealth; state and local representatives from the public and private                              sector, including the Governor’s cabinet, staff and Latino appointees, and community                                       residents and leaders of Central Virginia.

WHY:          Virginia Latino Advisory Board (VLAB) wants to partner with you to:

  •         Educate the community on the state resources and opportunities available;
  •         Engage and increase community participation; and
  •         Create stronger linkages between state and local government agency staff and the Latino                   community.

ABOUT VLAB :

VLAB advises the Governor regarding the development of economic, professional, cultural, educational, and governmental links between the Commonwealth of Virginia, the Latino community in Virginia, and Latin America; undertakes studies, symposiums, research, and factual reports to gather information to formulate and present recommendations to the Governor relative to issues of concern and importance to the Latino community in the Commonwealth; and advises the Governor as needed regarding any statutory, regulatory, or other issues of importance to the Latino community in the Commonwealth.

Boards and Commissions:

The Governor and VLAB are working together to increase the number of Hispanic/Latinos appointed to boards and commissions where policy decisions are made impacting our Hispanic/Latino communities. To apply, click here: https://commonwealth.virginia.gov/va-government/gubernatorial-appointments/
