Following on from the publication of a basic income pilot proposal for Jarrow and Grange, Northumbria University are about to publish new research on basic income. This work, funded by the National Institute for Health Research, has modelled the savings a basic income would cause the NHS.

This research builds on previous projects that have shown significant support for basic income in the "Red Wall" and the explosion of interest that has resulted from the pilot proposals in England. At this event the team will present the results of this new modelling of health impacts and an innovative new tool that shows which basic income models the public are most supportive of.

Basic Income Conversation are partnering with the project team on this event so attendees can discuss what they hear and learn from each other as well as the experts. This research has the potential to shift the debate on basic income in the UK, but only if we understand it and know how to talk about it!
