In this seminar we will hear from individuals with experience of the asylum accommodation system about their experiences in institutionalised asylum accommodation. We will then discuss our shared learning, and open up space for a conversation about resisting hostile treatment of people seeking asylum in our workplaces and organising spaces.

SPEAKERS

Iona Taylor

Iona is the Advocacy and Campaigns Lead at Positive Action in Housing, an independent homelessness and human rights charity dedicated to supporting refugees and migrants to rebuild their lives. She will lead on facilitating this workshop as part of Positive Action in Housing's campaign for housing rights for people seeking safety across the UK.

Adam Paterson

Adam is the Advocacy and Campaigns Officer at Positive Action in Housing. He has worked with Iona to build campaigns focusing on the rights of people seeking asylum across the UK and specifically in Glasgow
