Hello CSRA Activist!
Augusta CSRA Democratic Socialist of America and CSRA Peace Alliance will be hosting guest speaker Andreína Chávez Alava (on X), via teleconference. We have facilitated this opportunity to understand the real impacts of USA imperialism, and what we can do to make a difference.
Andreína is a Venezuelan journalist and reporter currently based in Caracas. She is a prominent writer for Venezuelanalysis, an independent news outlet focused on Venezuelan politics and society. She provides extensive on-the-ground reporting on Venezuelan current events, including national consultations, economic developments and social movements. Her work is frequently republished by various international progressive and left-leaning platforms, including Peoples Dispatch, CounterPunch, ZNetwork and Green Left. She has appeared as a commentator and reporter for international programs like Democracy Now! and Hindustan Times, offering a local perspective on U.S.-Venezuela relations and internal political crises. Her writing often covers topics such as feminism, territorial disputes (like the Esequibo), the impact of international sanctions and grassroots communal organizing.
We aim to begin promptly at 6:30 PM EDT (UTC-4) on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at the Music Room in the Augusta Kroc Center. Doors open at 6:15 PM. Remote participation is optional for those who register
